Los Angeles based rising bass producer Whales throws down a transfixing hybrid of emo, trap, and dubstep on his ground-shaking Dim Mak, New Noise release FADE AWAY
‘Fade Away’ follows Whales’ recent Dim Mak single ‘Save You’ featuring Megan Stokes, alongside Riot Ten, and the subsequent VIP Mix. The new material is part of a heavy string of releases, which include his Disciple Round Table EP, Destroyer, and collaborations with Megalodon, SHARPS, The Arcturians, and JOOL.
Since breaking out at the young age of 15 under the Sex Whales moniker, Israeli producer Tal Rochman has become known for his high-quality bass-led productions. His songs and collaborations have gathered well over 500 million plays and he’s performed around the globe, spreading his sounds across North America, Canada, Europe, and even China. Unbound by genres and rebranded as Whales, the 20-year-old looks to make a lasting impact on the electronic music industry.
New Noise is Dim Mak’s new music discovery imprint that focuses on cutting-edge sounds from burgeoning artists across the genre spectrum. Launched in 2010, New Noise got its start as a compilation series highlighting fresh faces handpicked by Steve Aoki and crew. By 2015, the platform evolved into a bi-weekly, free-download model based on singles. New Noise’s current incarnation is a copyright-free model that allows the budding community of Twitch gamer’s and amateur YouTube content creators to use New Noise music in their videos and live streams sans purchase or fees, all in exchange for linking back to the artists and their music.
