West London based alternative rap duo Cloude Atlas drop their fifth studio EP, FORWARD IN TIME: TOKI FRUIT: ACT I, produced by Galactic Warrior, Val-Verrel

Following recent support from the likes of Capital Xtra, Kiss Fresh, The Roundhouse, and Reprezent Radio, and on the back of their spring 2020 project ‘Romance Dawn: The Summer In Love’, West London alternative rap duo Cloude Atlas are kicking off the new year with a brand new EP titled ‘Forward In Time: Toki Fruit Act I’ in collaboration with British artist-producer and galactic-spiritual warrior Val-Verrel. The 4-track EP is the first of three projects in the series, which will be released all through the year.

The concept for their fifth studio EP Forward In Time comes from Cloude Atlas pushing themselves

“Forward In Time”,

on their musical journey, according to the alt-rap duo,

“We were meant to take a break after our last project to deal with personal things but we both cut it short to make this project, so we feel we’re ahead of time in a way”.

Inspired by their love affair with Japanese anime and manga art series One Piece, the sounds and lyrics of the EP lean towards helping the listener loosen their minds from blurred thoughts.

From the lively opening track ‘Laugh Tale’ (Simmer Down), which wants to remind us to live life freely and not take things too seriously, and ‘Whiskey Peak’ (Icy) calling for us to break out of still moments in life, with its strong message to be brave and stand tall against turmoil, to the slow-burning melodic rap love song ‘Amazon Lily’ (White Sheets) and the EP’s closing track titled ‘Palace’, which sees the duo speaking of our minds as palaces fit for royalty, Cloude Atlas have crafted a stellar body of work that makes for a captivating listen from start to finish.

Speaking about the inspiration behind their ‘Forward In Time’ EP, Cloude Atlas says,

“This EP is a special one to us as it forced us to realign and reconnect with music. Especially during a time where we’re all in a lockdown due to Covid-19, it gave us both a new escape and somewhere to put our energy. These are songs we have held onto for a few years and that makes it all the more exciting to finally be able to finish and release them. This is also the first time we’ve been in a position to be able to push things on a larger scale independently”.

Cloude Atlas are Star Lux and MP Dilla, and since their inception, they have been serving good vibes and strong messages through their music, while staying true to themselves and showcasing their unique artistic styles. The duo released their seminal debut project ‘Nuage’ in 2016 to rave reviews, with ‘The Shukan’ Mixtape and ‘Grand Line’ coming soon after in 2017 and 2018 respectively, boasting more expansive themes. Last year’s ‘Romance Dawn: The Summer In Love’ project saw glimpses of the duo delving deeper into their experimental sensibilities, which is fully blossoming on their brand new EP ‘Forward In Time: Toki Fruit Act I’.
