Orlando, Florida based recording artist Okito recently aired the visual to his track THERE’S AN ORGAN IN MY CHEST, taken off his critically acclaimed debut album DYSTOPIAN HEART

‘There’s an Organ in My Chest’ is the 5th single from Okito’s critically acclaimed album ‘Dystopian Heart’. The song prominently features an organ part played by Okito, once again backed by ‘slap you in the face’ drums.

The song is a plea to a mystery woman to recognize and accept the love he has for her. The organ, or heart in his chest-beating 100 times per minute desires to be ‘played’ by her. The track was entirely written and produced by Okito.

Okito was raised on an eclectic diet of soul and world music. The child of Guyanese immigrants, whose passions included calypso and poetry, Okito’s musical upbringing would go on to inform his genre-defying blend of Blues, Reggae, and Hip Hop.

Okito’s 2020 debut LP, ‘Dystopian Heart’ is an ode to his roots, marinated in deep nostalgia for the past, even incorporating the aura of ’50s and ’60s Rock and Roll which played in the halls of his childhood home.

These auditory memories, coupled with a recent breakup, resulted in an outpouring of effortlessly sophisticated compositions that would come to make up the LP, material flush with old school cool and new school swagger.
