London, UK based emerging renaissance R&B star Rasharn Powell releases the visual to his new track BLUNDER and announces his forthcoming mixtape, DUSK & DAWN

Rasharn Powell drops his first single of 2021 ‘Blunder’ and announces debut project, ‘Dusk & Dawn’. Fusing old-school nostalgia with present-day greatness, Rasharn is pioneering his own blend of R&B with hints of Soul, Alternative, and Hip Hop throughout. Produced by Gianluca Buccellati (Arlo Parks, Tei Shei), on ‘Blunder’ we witness Rasharn lay it bare, offering us an insight into his inner turmoil with love and women. On the visuals, Rasharn partnered with The Reids (Kam-Bu) who capture the vulnerability and frustration that occurs when relationships break down.

“I just wanted to be real about my previous experiences with heartbreak. I feel sometimes, we aren’t honest with ourselves, especially when things are self-inflicted. Laying my feelings bare in such a way, gives me clarity on what was and the person I am beyond it”.

Growing up in a predominantly female household, Rasharn learned from an early age that the most influential people to him were those he was surrounded by. His mum made great sacrifices financially and physically to nurture her son’s pursuit for music and establish a safer upbringing in Brentwood. As one of the only black students in his school, he began to understand and own his uniqueness which is now reflected in his music and is the driving force behind everything he creates.

Rooted in the London R&B scene, Rasharn said his music is for,

“Those individuals who don’t fit in with what society expects from them”.

In a world that forces labels on everything, he truly embraces being the misfit. Powell has grown to be even more comfortable in his skin and hopes that the fluidity in his art will ignite a movement in itself.
