Urban Vault caught up with New York-based emcee Makeba Mooncycle to ask her some questions about her upcoming album & more…

Anarchy Records and Makeba Mooncycle presents the first single ‘Loses‘ taken off her upcoming album ‘Just A Part of Me’, with production and scratches by French producer Buck Oner.

What’s your name?

Makeba Mooncycle

Where are you from?

Born in Atlanta, Georgia grew up in Queens & Brooklyn New York

How long have you been making music?

Since I was sixteen, My first producer Sean lived down the block in Laurelton, Queens on a keyboard beat machine.

Give us some details on your upcoming album?

My upcoming album is called ‘Just A Part of Me’ produced in its entirety by Buck Oner from France he also did all of the scratches as well. We have been working on the album for some time he is family. German label Hip Hop Enterprise will be releasing physical copies of the album. Anarchy Records is my label for digital release.

What and who inspires you when making music?

When I am making music the production speaks to me and I reflect on feelings about life, family, and love. All of these experiences become a part of bringing myself to others through music.

Plans for 2022?

To raise the vibrations and take the world into the Age of Aquarius through the sounds of the Mooncycle.

What do you do when you don´t make music?

I read I am currently building a library. I love collecting books, DVDs, and VHS tapes.

In a few words sum up your thoughts about Urban Vault UK and what we’re trying to do?

I love the fact that Urban Vault UK is like a curator or conservator to show Hip Hop in its purest form. There are not many places to experience the whole of Hip Hop culture Urban Vault UK is that place and I am thankful to now be a part of that.
