In 1979 Hip Hop made the jump from block party to record and in 1982 those records got political. These landmarks are thanks to the two legendary groups we have performing on one stage for the first time ever.
The Sugarhill Gang scored the first international rap hit with ‘Rappers Delight’. Hands down one of the most influential records of all time it has been covered and quoted by many and still sets dance-floors around the world alight.
With classics like ‘The Message’ and ‘White Lines’ The Furious Five, who had made third name at the competitive block parties of the South Bronx, brought politics to the fore in rap and it has stayed there ever since.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see and hear both of these ground breaking groups on the same stage on the same night so do not miss out.
