London’s new king of pirate radio teams up with Trends and Mr. Dubz for the long-awaited single ‘Mr Wait’.
‘Mr Wait’ has been causing damage on radio since 2015, supported heavily by Slimzee, Spooky, Stormzy, Logan Sama, Swifta Beater and even Sleaford Mods, who highlighted it on a recent Channel 4 appearance. It now finally sees release through Trends’ Mean Streets label, an increasingly key hub for high-octane grime.
It’s Jammz’ first release of 2016, following a breakthrough 2015 that saw him playlisted by BBC Radio 1Xtra and booked all over Europe after releasing a series of anthems, including ‘Hit Then Run’, ‘Final Warning’ and ‘London Living’. ‘Hit Then Run’ was picked as Noisey’s #3 grime track of 2015, while The Fader and Mixmag have highlighted him as a key artist to watch in 2016. In March he will support Kano on his Made In The Manor tour.
Trends has become one of grime’s most talked-about producers over the last few years, championed by the residents at Boxed (he featured on their first 12” single, and plays regularly at the night), Logan Sama, Slimzee and more. He will follow ‘Mr Wait’ with a collaborative EP with Spooky and a new solo EP on Mean Streets.
