Peckham, London based recording artist Temz Clipstar drops the visual to his recent track DOWN, produced by Fergus Martin

South London based newcomer Temz Clipstar, shares his debut single called ‘Down’. Produced by Fergus Martin, this psychedelic offering speaks volumes on talent blending synthetic brass sounds akin to a vintage Neptunes cut with contemporary autotuned vocals.

Speaking on the track, Temz says, “’Down’ is inspired by my love for romcoms combined with a personal love experience. We all have our own individual missions to complete, ‘Down’ asks the girl in question if she still wants to be with me after I’ve laid all my cards on the table and she realizes just how difficult my personal mission is going to be. Would she be down through the lows as well as the highs? Though the message is quite sombre, the beat is intentionally something you can move your feet to. In life, you’ve got to take the good with the bad and it was important for me to convey that message somehow in this song”.

“The video for ‘Down’ is directed by George Maguire and combines my love of romcoms and dystopian movies. The concept of the video is about a man who has everything in the world but still struggling to find someone ‘down’ for him, so he ends UP buying an android. He tries to teach her affection and throughout the video she becomes a lot warmer to the main character, almost showing human-like emotions, however, it never truly fills the void of having a real person who’s ‘down’. This vacant feeling is compounded in the last scene, when his android malfunctions, leaving him alone once more”.

Born and raised in Peckham, Temz Clipstar brings a refreshing new flavor to the UK Rap scene. A comic book collector and movie buff, with an eclectic taste in music, whose influences range from Giggs, Childish Gambino, and Kanye West, Temz has been busy in the studio for the past few years with his close collaborator Fergus Martin honing his sound.
