Barbados Hip Hop artist DolceOnDaBeat recently released the visual to the track TOO LONG, taken off his 2022 album NO INTERNET
From his remarkable project ‘No Internet,’ ‘Too Long’ marks the second single (and final music video) in this series of new releases from emphatic Hip Hop artist DolceOnDaBeat. Originally inspired by Money Man’s landmark release ‘Paranoia’ but never overstepping the line into pastiche, ‘Too Long,’ developed into a tantalizing trap track. The accompanying music video for this installment in the ‘No Internet‘, era of Dolce predominantly encapsulates all the elements of creating the project; ‘working hard, introspection and reflection across a melodic beat.’ Feeling overlooked in his career and like the people closest to him were only there to reap the benefits of him being a musician, ‘Too Long’, summarises those feelings into an incessantly catchy track that solidifies Dolce as one of Barbados’ top Hip Hop artists.
DolceOnDaBeat is a dynamic artist who ignited his musical spark back in 2012 whilst simultaneously studying at Barbados Community College. A twist of fate propelled him onto a stage, where he impressed audiences as a guest artist with his original composition ‘Write Me a Love Song’. Drawing inspiration from iconic figures like Michael Jackson, Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Chris Brown, Dolce’s artistic vision was fortified by the environment of his upbringing. In 2018, Dolce decided to completely commit to his craft. Venturing to New York in 2019 opened doors to fresh experiences, people, and scenery, catalyzing his debut project ‘New York Nights’.
Undeterred by the challenges of 2020’s pandemic, Dolce escalated his efforts, creating 8 music videos for singles from his album. The following year, he unveiled a series of mixtapes named ‘OnDaRemixSeries 7 Tapes’, reflecting the diverse range of his artistry. This subsequently led to his 2022 hit ‘No Internet’, which garnered significant anticipation and praise. This accomplishment culminated in the ‘No Internet Tour 2022’, – his groundbreaking solo tour across his homeland. In 2023, DolceOnDaBeat continued to shine, releasing the ‘S.N.A.K.E.S.‘ EP in March, accompanied by a successful mixtape/album launch at Sheraton Mall – Aeon Bar & Grill. With a broad spectrum of releases in his expansive discography, DolceOnDaBeat remains an artist drenched in raw potential, continually pushing the boundaries of his craft.
