London, UK born & bred, Ontario, Canada-based emcee LTtheMonk recently released his highly anticipated new ten-track album UPTOWN INTERN #333

Listen to LTtheMonk’s next chapter as an artist, with his brand new album ‘Uptown Intern #333‘. It captures his own New Monk Swing sound, blending Hip Hop, Dance, and Pop music in a way that is unique to LT.

Lyrically, this album tells the story of The Intern, the child with a love of music so pure he’ll do anything to see that love realized. ‘Uptown Intern #333’ tells the story of The Intern as he embarks on his journey to Uptown, traveling through the sounds and the eras, to find his own New Monk Swing.

Love is meant to be a reminder of one’s true self, of keeping that childhood spirit and purity alive, no matter where you go. ‘Reminder‘, which features on this record, is a song he wrote about how one’s first love is the key to one’s childhood, maybe a true self that one left behind when entering adulthood. LT wants to keep the essence of those more simple times as I travel through the adult world, to not lose the purity and beauty of life that defined my youth.

This was the first song that J-Track and LT worked on together. He remembers sending him a way more melodic pre-chorus that wasn’t really sitting well, but then LT listened to some 90s R&B and thought about how he could make it more rhythmically interesting. LT sent him the pre-chorus that you now hear on the track and then we were really rolling. And then to add Kiara Taylor’s vocals on top of it, when LT was recording the track with engineer Sir KR Moore, that’s the cherry on top!

‘Reminder’ represents everything that LT is about. He wants to Rap, He wants to Sing, He wants to Dance, and LT wants people to feel happy and free when they dance to his music, but if they’re listening to the words, he also wants them to resonate with something deep. ‘Reminder’ makes him want to forget all of his problems and remember that the art and the joy of life are the most important things to focus on.

“Thank you for spending time with this song and my new album. I hope that you connect with the world of ‘Uptown Intern #333’ and find your own happiness in my New Monk Swing sound” – LTtheMonk.
